What your nonprofit needs to know about fundraising in 2020
While most people spend December thinking about Christmas and New Year’s Eve, nonprofits have their sights set on something else: fundraising.
The end of the year is the best opportunity for nonprofit organizations to make their donation requests. Some fund development professionals have told us that their organizations raise upwards of 70% of their annual targets in the final three months of the year.
That’s pretty staggering.
There are lots of factors at play driving those dynamics, including:
- End of year tax deadlines
- The giving mood that seems to come with the season
- An ample dose of egg nog (we joke, but…)
Taking advantage of that opportunity requires a plan with the right strategies, tools, and tactics. Being on top of the latest trends in fundraising will help you build a successful plan.
To that end, the folks at Canada Helps are here to… well, help!
Canada Helps recently released an infographic looking at Canadian fundraising trends in 2019. The details tell us what your nonprofit needs to be thinking about for fundraising in 2020.
Check out those numbers on how many charities received digital donations!
9,218 charities received donations through a custom donation form on their website.
That’s up from 8,307 in 2018. Clearly online fundraising is how more and more Canadians are giving!
Are you ready to take advntage of this growing trend? Does your nonprofit want to get a handle on how to maximize its digital donations?
The team here a Communicatto would love to sit down and talk about online fundraising. We can help you put together a plan that will direct more of those donation dollars to your organization’s website!
